does anyone here care to check for me the battery type for kia optima? i think i need to replace it... coz my ride is 2nd hand and i think the battery is not the right size.. it's too tall .. the manual is already lost when i bought it.. anyone please help me... thanks

You can use any brand battery but it must be DIN 55. but I heard we can use NS 70 also.

My battery died on me today. d**n It.... 9 months old car batt jus ran flat. Called the service center warranty claims only apply for 1 yr or 20K Km which ever comes first.
Darn mine is already 35K Km, so warranty is over and replaced with a AC DELCO maintenance free batt which cost me RM280.

hhalex, you are entitled for the claim, bring your service booklet together and make noise to them. See page 8 of the service booklet:
"The items specified below are covered for periods different from the basic coverage: 1) Battery - The original equipment battery is fully covered for the first 12 months of the warranty period regardless of kilometers. "

Yeah, d**n it have to go to the branch as they have changed the policy that for CBU cars on 20K or 1 yr.

my original optima battery last about 1 year n 10 months. Free maintanance battery. Then i bought GP battery from brothers N70 (not din 55) cost me about RM 178. I used it about 3 weeks now and no problem at all avent its N70.

got mine changed yesterday Din55 at $250.00 after only 11 months Happened after having the engine light came on and got it checked..was told by the SC that the battery is not it's optimum anymore and can still last but donno for how long..so decided to have it changed.. No more under warranty as it's over the 25k mileage mark..
