I hope changing Optima's timing belt is just like changing other cars' timing belt, where any current day mechanics can do. Based on Goh's list it sounded complex aka need special tools.

hhalex,
it's in Bandar Puteri Klang. I service my satria ever since moved there, they did pretty good work at very reasonable price.
Recently changed timing belt for that satria 1.3, costs me rm250 inclusive of the belt, pretensioner and labour, while service throttle body+electronic tuning only RM30 (buddy price).. hehe..

Thanks goh17, the list is very useful ... My car pedal got vibration when the car speed is low, no vibration if in the high speed.not sure if this due to engine mounting ?
anyone can share the experience?

hi samuelk The cost for changing of full set of engine mounting (4 pieces) is abt RM950+/- . The H & K''s boss, Jimmy Gu's advise is to change all instead of one by one. After changing the engine mounting, the driving experience is like a new car. Regards

I only changed 1 unit of engine mounting at Authorized Kia SC. They charged RM250.00 for the materials and RM80.00 for the labour. However, the labour include changing of power sterling belt.

Seriously considering doing it outside rather than at the SC's since it's at that price hmm....

RM325 for labour alone? This SC is really cut-throat! I'll probably opt for timing belt change fr my regular mechanic. He just did for Sonata 2 weeks ago and total cost was RM700 only, inclusive of labour. I'll ask for breakdown of part numbers in my next visit. Bro.. managed to get the breakdown? Approaching 60K soon..
