kcyap, masrila5, snmi, welcome to the club.
kc, I too read up this site & others before opting for Optima. Of course the purchase price against feature of comfort, accessories like sunroof, abs, ebd and many more is also an attraction. Till today, I am still scavenging the net for info on the kia.

There aren't much that I've found on the optima. But some that I frequent (besides MyOptima) are: - 1. Nazakia Club 2. SGKia Club 3. KV Optima (yahoo based) 4. Kia-forums.com 5. Kia Global (specs and some repair manual-so can learn a bit) 6. Autoworld
But most overseas based sites talked about the 2.5 l & the V6 models, particularly those in Australia & the US.
I'm still trying to learn how to use the H-Matic gears. Used it, but felt no difference in pick-up except that one can manually change the gears manually and hold gears like the usual auto gears.
Keeping on searching and hope you'll received your Opitma in due time or earlier.

Hi everyone. Just got my Optima yesterday. Silver standard with sunroof.......it is indeed a good car, very good, very satisfy with it. My previous ride was a japanese sedan 1.6cc, price almost same but was no compare to the optima on all espect. Feel really great. Will share with you guys the FC of this car later on as I am very keen to do the ECU reprogramming and will compare the pre and post then....

As far as i know there still quite many unit of optima in stock, i bought it from one of the main Kia dealer located @ Tmn Megah Kalana Jaya. Not sure about the launching 0f 07 version optima/magentis as no official confirmation as far as i know. My car is shipped to Malaysia end of 2005 so i got quite a bit of discount.

Congrats on your new ride, KC.
Do update us on your findings of other things too... like minor noise, fittings and finishings. My opinion is that Korean still a little behind for build quality.
