Guys,
I'd like to conduct a simple poll on our satisfaction level in owning the Optima. My definition of Satisfaction are as follows: -
- You have not encountered major problems that cost more than RM1,000 to fix. Major problem is defined as pre-mature failure of parts or the car just died on you and you can't use it until it is fixed - You have not had to leave the car overnight at the SCs for repairs - Nazakia SCs or authorised SCs attend to your problems promptly during warranty period.
If you say Yes to all, then I would categorise it as "Very Satisfied", if 2/3 Yes, then it is "Satisfied" and any lesser "Not Satisfied"

I also agree with goh17 & KU^20. Mentioned about the lousy Naza SC a couple of times in this forum & at mynazakia. A couple of months back, NAZA SCs introduced the customer feedback mechanism, i.e. they'll call you a few days after you serviced your car. I had the call twice and on both occassions I just hung up because the they were not serious in getting your feedback. The reason I said this is because the callers, apparently girls were giggling while asking the questions. So how important could our feedback be to them. The intention was good, but execution seemed to be just play2.

dear all
talking abt reliable workshop / SC, any good suggestions for our Optima? i notice most workshops are reluctant to handle optima (especially trrouble shooting) citing it is a different animal as compared to Japanese and national cars.
i know H & K is very famous in handling Korean cars (Optima included), but it is really shorthandled over there (as Jimmy is only a one-man show) and it may take very long waiting time to get ur car serviced / get wear & tear items changed or problem(s) solved, despite I really respect Jimmy as a professional auto engineer. Therefore i am exploring any other workshop / SC that could handle Optima well, as an alternative besides H & K.
sincerely need ur help.
regards

There's one "not satisfied" vote. Appreciate if you could tell your story/experience about the problems leading to the dissatisfaction of owning a Kia Optima.
iium06, sorry me cant help you cos me down south and is also searching for a workshop that knows what they're doing and dont "kencing" me in the process.

hi, I am the one who are not satisfied mainly due to the following reasons: 1. The engine mounting wornout after 53-55K KM. As I know, the engine mounting for most other cars could last at least 4-5 years, including my previous wira. 2. Radiator leaking, thermostat spoiled and radiator hoses wornout after 60K KM. All these had caused my engine overheated and of course a relatively huge monetary damage. 3. Unidentified bearing sound(s), since 53-55K KM. Initially, I was informed that it could be due to the ageing Timing Belt, but the sound(s) still there even after I have changed a new timing belt at 60K KM. 4. As I only sent my car to KCS during warranty period, I can't understand why KCS was unable to identify warning signs at early stage, perhaps before the expiration of warranty period. Otherwise, I may be able to make warranty claims on the above-mentioned items OR at least could take preventive measures early. Also, I have reservation on one of the ex-KCS service manager (who left KCS during Sep/Oct 2007), I suspect he had done somethings unethical on my car. I am surprised why the original wear and tear items (as mentioned in item 1-3) have shorter than reasonable expected life span, though I have taken good care on my Optima, ie. driving my car gently and sending my car to KCS promptly for each service interval during warranty period. Most of the above-mentioned issues were finally resolved at H & K. I must give a very high appreciation to Jimmy Gu (the owner of H & K).

Just to share with all of you where I normally send my car for services, trouble shooting and claim for warranty. I’m happy with my current workshops. Most of the time I can communicate in duplex way and a bit of human touch to solved my problem. Both of my kia’s were send for services at K1A Metro Danau Kota/Ampang/Pandan Indah(Kuala Lumpur) or Kia Service Center Selayang(Selangor)
“talking abt reliable workshop / SC, any good suggestions for our Optima? i notice most workshops are reluctant to handle optima (especially trrouble shooting) citing it is a different animal as compared to Japanese and national cars.”
Why? Maybe because its only been last few years since kia's car entered Malaysian market thus not many mechanics or workshops has experience in handling kia’s vehicle. I notice that most of them would just go with the try and error method. We all know that nobody or not one mechanic can solve every problem that we have because everybody is not perfect but at least I already found and trust mechanic and workshops that can understand both my Kias and solved most of my problems.
As for me I am very particular with my mechanic’s background and experiences. Shahrim from K1A is already equipped with 8 years of experience with Naza last time. For normal services and warranty I will send my car to the SC but for trouble shooting's problem on my car, I will send to K1A.
I Vote for : Very Satisfied

Dear Izhar
Where is K1A Metro Danau? Could u give me the contact and indication of location?
BTW, I was told one of the reasons why normal workshops are reluctant to handle Optima is because the computerised diagnosis tool (or software) is expessive, it is not worth (for the workshops) to invest (buying the software) if there are not many optima in the market.
Thanks and Regards

Thanks and Regards Yes bro very expensive... The tools call " Hi Scan" and function of this tools is to diagnose and detect all the sensors condition in our car. The price of this device is around RM27K per unit. K1A have this device. That why I send my car there...
